We provide students with a rigorous and challenging academic curriculum while deeply immersing them in community opportunities and career experiences.
Innovative academic curriculum
The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) teaches students to think critically, solve complex problems, be more culturally aware, and engage with people in a rapidly changing world. Students direct their learning pathway and develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive and make a lasting difference. They’ll be well prepared for college or ready to enter the workforce.
Deeply rooted in our local community
Our students learn through a community-focused lens inside and outside the classroom while gaining academic skills in a culturally responsive and supportive environment. Inspired by the philosophy of social justice advocate Bryan Stevenson, our school’s approach is to “get proximate,” or closer, to the needs of our students and community by partnering with them to identify their challenges and create sustainable solutions.
Our 8-hour schedule allows for service, enrichment, and self-directed learning.
BASSE engages students in real-world, hands-on, experiential learning.
Each student has a written Personalized Learning Plan to guide their education.
Our curriculum develops well-rounded, caring, knowledgeable, and self-motivated students.
